What You’ll Be Doing

Main Responsibilities and Duties


  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the overall business operations strategy, with a focus on optimizing workforce and enhancing employee retention.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring to ensure the acquisition of top talent for IceCap Cold Storage.
  • Provide interpretations for the entire lifecycle of hiring, from recruiting to onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Act as a liaison between staffing agencies and IceCap Cold Storage to ensure candidates meet the company’s standards and requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA.
  • Serve as a backup Point of Contact during emergency drills and real-life events, ensuring the safety and security of all employees.
  • Conduct annual compensation analysis to ensure competitive and fair employee compensation.
  • Manage benefits enrollment and lead annual Open Enrollment, including organizing benefit orientations and meetings.
  • Oversee the maintenance of employment records and job descriptions, utilizing HRIS software effectively.

Technical or Professional Requirements


  • Prior management experience in a Human Resources role, with a focus on recruitment, employee retention, and workforce optimization.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English to facilitate bilingual communication and training within the organization.
  • Proficiency in using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently.
  • Experience in conflict management and dealing with sensitive and complex employee relations issues.
  • Flexible work schedule availability, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Team Interactions and Reporting Structure


  • Report directly to the General Manager, providing updates and insights on HR initiatives and workforce optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with leadership and direct reports through scheduled People Analyzer meetings to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Engage with all levels of the organization, fostering a people-oriented and communicative work environment.

Project Involvement and Expectations


  • Participate in strategic projects aimed at optimizing staffing models and enhancing employee retention.
  • Involve in high school outreach programs to build a talent pipeline and promote IceCap Cold Storage as an employer of choice.
  • Lead culture transformation initiatives and succession planning projects to support business expansion and internal talent development.
